Tour Rowing
Tour rowing is recreational long-distance rowing and it is a key activity in the Phoenix RC annual calendar. Our members have traveled widely in Ireland and across Europe, rowing on beautiful rivers, lakes, and canals. Tour events are typically one to five days duration, with the typical distances covered each day being 25 to 30 km.
In Ireland, Phoenix members have toured on the Rivers Shannon, Barrow, Nore, and also on Lough Erne. They have also traveled to France, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, and Portugal to row and socialise with groups of recreational rowers from across Europe. When new members feel sufficiently confident to go on tour, they are encouraged to begin with an Irish tour rowing event.
Touring is a unique experience. Once you’ve gone on tour, you’ll never look back.
